Good Samaritan Medical Center Announces Major $2–$3 Billion Campus Redevelopment

Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach has announced renovation plans for a transformative redevelopment of its campus, positioning the hospital as a premier national destination for advanced medical care, wellness services, and luxury living. The ambitious project, estimated to cost between $2 billion and $3 billion, will significantly reshape the hospital’s waterfront campus along Flagler Drive and introduce a modern health and lifestyle ecosystem designed to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and affluent population in Palm Beach County.

The redevelopment is being led in partnership with Easton Street Capital, a new investment entity created by principals from Palm Beach-based Frisbie Group. According to parent company, Palm Beach Health Network, the Good Samaritan Medical Center renovation aims to modernize the hospital’s facilities while expanding healthcare services and creating a destination campus that integrates healthcare, residential living, and hospitality.


Plans for a New State-of-the-Art Hospital

A centerpiece of the redevelopment is the construction of a new hospital building directly west of the current facility at 1309 N. Flagler Drive. The new hospital will be twice the height of the existing five-story structure and will continue to offer scenic views of the Intracoastal Waterway for patient rooms.

The expanded hospital will increase inpatient capacity from approximately 175 beds to around 225 beds, reflecting growing demand for healthcare services in the region. In addition to capacity increases, the hospital plans to expand specialized care in cardiac services, cancer treatment, and breast health, while also introducing pediatric services to broaden its clinical offerings.

Construction on the new hospital will most likely begin in mid-2027, with an estimated 30-month construction timeline.


A New Medical Destination with Housing and Hospitality

Beyond healthcare facilities, the good Samaritan Medical Center renovation will introduce workforce housing, luxury condominiums, a hotel, and mixed-use retail spaces, creating a comprehensive health and lifestyle environment.

Workforce housing is planned on the western edge of the campus to support healthcare staff and address the rising cost of living in Palm Beach County. The development will also include two 25-story luxury condominium towers designed for independent living, each expected to contain approximately 150 units.

A hotel tower will serve both visiting patients and tourists seeking access to the hospital’s specialized medical services.


Longevity Center and Waterfront Mixed-Use Development

Once the new hospital is completed, the existing hospital building will be demolished and replaced with a circular mixed-use complex featuring restaurants, retail spaces, and a longevity center focused on preventative health and wellness.

Longevity centers are rapidly growing across the United States and typically provide advanced diagnostics such as genetic testing, metabolic analysis, cardiac imaging, and preventative therapies designed to promote long-term health and extend quality of life.


Responding to Increasing Healthcare Competition

The redevelopment comes amid growing competition from major healthcare providers entering Palm Beach County to serve the region’s increasing population of affluent residents and seasonal visitors. By modernizing its campus and expanding services, Good Samaritan Medical Center aims to maintain its position as a leading healthcare provider while elevating West Palm Beach as a destination for advanced medical care and wellness.
